Vorerst kein extended Cut :/

Kürzlich sind mir die genauen Details zum DVD- und Blu-Ray-Release von Star Trek 11 über den Weg gelaufen.
Leider sieht es so aus, als plane man keine erweiterte Fassung, die sicherlich viele Fans erhofft hatten.
Die im Schnittraum geopferten Szenen werden zwar enthalten sein, jedoch nur als extern und separat abspielbare Schnipsel.
Schade eigentlich – es hätten sich sicher einige Abnehmer für eine “komplette” Fassung gefunden.
Das soll nicht heißen, das es niemals einen Recut geben wird – vielleicht überrascht man uns ja mit einer neuen Version, wenn sich alle schon die 0815-Ausgabe zugelegt haben… Wäre schade.
Hier nun die Features für Blu-Ray und DVD (beide ab 31. Dezember 2009 in Deutschland erhältlich):
DVD:

- To Boldly Go — Taking on the world’s most beloved science fiction franchise was no small mission. Director J.J. Abrams, writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, producer Damon Lindelof, and executive producer Bryan Burk talk about the many challenges they faced and their strategy for success.
- Casting — The producers knew their greatest task was finding the right cast to reprise these epic roles. The cast, for their part, talk about the experience of trying to capture the essence of these mythic characters. The piece concludes with a moving tribute to Leonard Nimoy.
- Aliens — Designers Neville Page and Joel Harlow talk about the hurdles they faced creating new alien species, recreating the Romulans and Vulcans, and designing the terrifying creatures on Delta Vega for the new Star Trek.
- Score — As a fan of the original series, composer Michael Giacchino embraced the challenge of creating new music for Star Trek while preserving the spirit of Alexander Courage’s celebrated theme.

Da werkelt man fleißig und überlegt sich eine spannende Geschichte in einer spannenden Epoche des Star-Trek-Universums, braucht ein bisschen länger und was ist: Man merkt man ist nicht alleine 
Voraussichtlich im Oktober diesen Jahres erscheint – zumindest auf englisch – Star Trek “The Romulan War” von Michael A. Martin.

One ship, one Starfleet captain uncovers this insidious plot, Jonathan Archer of the Enterprise. Determined not to lose what they have gained, out manned and out gunned, the captains of Starfleet stand tall vowing to defend every inch of Coalition space. The tide begins to turn. The Romulans now plan to strike at what they see as the heart of their problem. With nothing left to lose the Romulan Star Empire engages in all out war against humanity, determined once and for all to stop the human menace from spreading across the galaxy.
Wir sind gespannt auf diese Fiktion, wenden uns nun aber wieder unserer Story zu, die in einem Buch durchaus auch eine gute Figur machen würde

Und wieder beschert uns J.J. Abrams mit einem neuen Trailer zu Star Trek XI.
Zwar ähnelt der Trailer dem bisher gesehenen, jedoch gibt es wieder ein paar neue Szenen die es zu sehen lohnt.
